There's no sales rep separate from the person who fixes the door. Whoever comes to your driveway is the one doing the repair, so the quote you get on-site is based on what they're actually looking at, not a guess relayed secondhand.
We don't have a fleet story or a founding date to hand you, and we're not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what we work on: torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, rollers, cables, and full door replacement, on the kinds of garage doors that went into houses built here between 1938 and 2005 - most of that stock dating to the 1980s and 90s. That range covers a lot of hardware types, from older side-mounted torsion setups to more recent belt-drive openers, and it's part of why we ask about the age of the house before we ask about the noise it's making.
After You Call
Once we have your address and a description of the problem, we can usually give you a ballpark over the phone - a rough range, not a firm number. Firm numbers come from seeing the door.
We'll ask what year the house was built or roughly when the door was last replaced, since that tells us whether we're dealing with older torsion hardware or something newer. In this area, given the 1938-2005 build range, that one detail changes the parts list more than almost anything else you could tell us.
If it's a spring or opener failure, we can often look at photos of the spring, the track, and the opener unit itself and narrow the estimate further before anyone drives out. A short video of the door trying to open helps too - grinding, stalling partway, or reversing on its own each points to a different repair.
What We Actually Do
An accurate quote needs a few things: the door's width (single or double), its age or the house's build year, what the opener is doing when it fails, and whether the springs are torsion (mounted above the door) or extension (running along the tracks). With those four, we can usually price a spring replacement or opener swap close to exact before we arrive.
What we can't price sight unseen: bent track from a car backing into the door, panel damage where we don't know the extent of the dent or crack, or anything where the door has been sitting broken for a while and other parts may have started failing too. Cold winters in this part of Colorado are hard on garage door hardware - springs sitting in a cold garage cycle harder and cables stretch differently than in a mild climate - so a door that's ten or fifteen years old with no sign of the original spring may need more than one part replaced.
That's the kind of thing we won't guess at over the phone. We'd rather look at it and tell you straight than quote low and surprise you at the door.
